Today we’re going to be talking about God helping us and we’ll see two very powerful testimonies of people that have been helped by God. I want you to understand, beloved, that God has set us on this planet for His purposes, but in that process He is constantly helping us. He helps us by giving us direction in life. He helps us by giving us understanding and revelation of His Word. We have prepared two testimonies of people who received direction and who received relation of the Word of God, and how it changed their lives. May your faith be boosted as you watch the video orread the article.
Isaiah 48 verse 17 ( HCSB) says :
This is what the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel says:
I am Yahweh your God,
who teaches you for your benefit,
who leads you in the way you should go.
Isaiah 48 verse 17 ( NLT) says :
This is what the Lord says—
your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
“I am the Lord your God,
who teaches you what is good for you
and leads you along the paths you should follow.
This is a fundamental characteristic of God, that must be a revelation to us because it enables us to trust Him and do what He tells us to do. You know, the other day we were in early morning prayer at 6am, and as we were praying we got into a time of praying deeply in other tongues, and the Lord came to drop direction into my spirit. He told us about something we were supposed to do and do now! It was something of a shock, of a surprise, but also of great joy. In fact I was weeping with joy, because it is so wonderful when God comes to lead you, and tells you, this is the way you should go. It is really powerful. You know many times we see many things that we could do – people are doing this, and it’s working, and this seems to be helping this church and you are thinking, ‘Lord, what should we do.’ And the interesting thing is that I was in the process where I wanted to stop something that we were doing. I was asking the Lord, ‘Lord should we stop this now, should we move on to something else? And instead of telling us to stop something, He told us to start something. Beloved we need divine direction in our lives. And the testimony that you are going to see is the testimony of a young man who got divine direction.
How do we get divine direction ?
We get direction first by desiring it. Many people don’t desire divine direction. They have worked everything out for themselves. They say, ‘this is what I need; this is what I’m going to do to get it, or this
is what I CAN do and not only do they not seek God’s direction and but they don’t have a desire for it, but they’ve limited themselves to their own possibilities. We are not limited to what we see, what we feel ourselves capable of doing. God has thoughts, purposes, ideas and plans concerning you that may never have occured to you. And its only when you seek Him for direction that you will find out what these things are. And as you find out, it is imperative for you to obey and do what He says. I may say a few words about that later.
Psalm 32 vs 8 says,
I will instruct you and show you the way to go;
with My eye on you, I will give counsel.
9 Do not be like a horse or mule,
without understanding,
that must be controlled with bit and bridle
or else it will not come near you.
That’s a word for someone today. There’s no reason for a child of God to be in confusion. We didn’t choose to come to the earth, God sent us here. We didn’t choose to stay here, some people don’t want to go at this he said he’s here so they want to go to heaven, but I do! He kept us here so that we can fulfill His purposes. It stands to reason then that He will show us the way to go. So you must believe the Lord.
In this passage God is saying, ‘I will give you clear direction, as to what to do with your life; where to go. The New Living Translation puts it this way:
“I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.
I will advise you and watch over you.
9 Do not be like a senseless horse or mule
that needs a bit and bridle to keep it under control.”
We don’t need to be compelled to do things. Many people are compelled by circumstances, we can be directed by the word of the Lord. We do not need to be compelled and oppressed by circumstances. This is important.
How does God direct us ?
- By speaking to us in our hearts as we pray
- by speaking through His Word
- by speaking prophetically through His servants
This is so important. In this video you will see a prophetic word that I gave to a young man. I didn’t know this young man from Adam, nor from Eve for that matter! He came to one of our meetings, and as I was moving along the lines praying for people, I got to him, and strangely I put my hand under his throat. I was not about to strangle him, not at all! And even I was puzzled at the gesture, but I knew the Lord was up to something, and I began to speak over him about his voice.
And when he got up later to testify you will see the look on his face! We wanted to show you this testimony. It is in French, but we have subtitles in English, so just pay attention. I put my hand under his throat and I began to speak over his life. And it turned out to be an amazing divine direction for him. He got up later to testify about why that was so amazing for him, because something had happened previously, and he was seeking the Lord for direction. I spoke to you about desire earlier; we must seek the Lord for direction. We must have the desire to do what He wants us to do, not just to do what is convenient for us.
